Wave at your webcam and a 3D character waves back. Tilt your head, open your mouth, move your hands — the avatar mirrors you in real time. No special gear and nothing to install: just a browser tab and an ordinary camera.
Your camera feed never leaves your device — all tracking runs in your browser. Try it below.
Use it right above (allow the camera). Not showing? Open full-screen in a new tab.
What it tracks
- Head — turning, nodding and tilting.
- Expressions — eye blinks and mouth shapes; it even mimics talking.
- Body — shoulders, arms and upper-body direction.
- Fingers — 21 points per hand, so it tells a fist from open fingers.
Each of these can be toggled on or off.
How it works — no install, no upload
It uses Google’s MediaPipe to find 468 face points, 33 body points and 21 points per hand from the camera image. Kalidokit turns those into joint rotations that drive a VRM avatar rendered with Three.js (WebGL). All of this runs inside your browser — the video is never sent to a server.
How to use it
- Open the tool above and choose a VRM file (free characters can be made in VRoid Studio).
- Click Start Camera and allow access.
- Keep your upper body and face in frame, then move.
Tip: if the body doesn’t follow, step back so your shoulders are visible.
Where you can use it
Virtual-avatar streaming, camera-shy video calls, education and rehab demos, or quick interactive prototypes — all from a single link, with nothing to install.
Privacy
Everything is processed on your device with JavaScript and WebGL. Your camera image is never uploaded or stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is my camera footage saved anywhere?
No. All analysis happens in your browser; nothing is transmitted.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on modern mobile browsers — it’s heavier, so the frame rate may be lower than on a PC.
What file do I need?
A VRM 3D character. You can create one for free with tools like VRoid Studio.
Is it free?
Yes — no install and no sign-up.
